Instagram Guides – A Guide

It seems like Instagram is changing weekly at the moment! We’ve recently had Reels and now we have Guides too. But what are Guides and how do you use them?

Well, firstly you can find Guides by heading to your Grid page on the app (your homepage) then click the + sign which is at the top right of the page.

From here you will see you have options for various kinds of posts and at the bottom is a Guide.

When you click Guide you will see you can choose from 3 different types of Guide –

Places – Recommend places in your city and beyond.

Products – Recommend your labourite products.

Posts – Recommend posts that you created or saved.

Each Guide type enables you to create a portfolio of Instagram posts which you can add a headlines too and include text.

If an Instagram account has started to produce Guides you will find them on their homepage just above their Grid under the icon that looks like an open magazine. By clicking this it will take you to the Guides they have created and broken down by subheading. To see some accounts that have already started to make use of Guides you could head to @ASOS and @Heads_Together

What Guides will do is allow accounts to group together content under certain themes so people can choose a topic they are interested to read more about, from you and your company. Guides can also be shared via Stories, which increases the chances of getting them seen and gives you additional content to multi-purpose.

Let us know if you are using Guides as we would love to take a look.
